J. Shane Givens
Shane opened his law practice in his hometown of Centre, Alabama in 2005 after working at a large firm Birmingham. He is very happy to be practicing law in Centre and has enjoyed much success in doing so. He earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Shane is a member of Centre First United Methodist Church. He is active in supporting all types of community organizations. He is married to his beautiful wife Katy Beth and has two wonderful children, Colin and Ellisan.
Shane has one of the largest and most respected real estate practices in the area. Shane is also one of this areas finest trial attorneys and has trial experience in all matters of family law, divorce, criminal defense and civil litigation. He also specializes in personal injury, all probate matter, and business law. Shane is known as a very aggressive attorney and always focuses on the best interests of his client.

Katy Beth Givens
Katy Beth Givens is a native of Cherokee County and is proud to begin serving clients throughout Centre and the surrounding areas. Since 2019, Katy has been an integral part of the firm’s real estate practice, working directly with clients and handling real estate closings.
Katy earned her law degree from the Birmingham School of Law. Her hands-on experience in real estate has given her a strong practical understanding of the closing process, title issues, and the needs of clients navigating property transactions.
Katy is a member of Centre First United Methodist Church and an active member of the local community. She is married to Shane Givens and a proud step-parent to Colin and Ellisan.
Her practice focuses on real estate, probate, and related matters, where she is committed to providing clear communication, dependable service, and thoughtful legal guidance. Katy is dedicated to helping clients move through important life and business decisions with confidence and peace of mind.
